8821. And the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace. That this signifies obscurity like the obscurity from cupidities, is evident from the signification of "smoke," as being obscurity (see above, n. 8819); and from the signification of "a furnace," as being cupidity (n. 7519).
